Vision and values of Jena Economic Development
Our vision is to further develop Jena as an innovative, sustainable and dynamic business location. We are committed to strengthening the city as an attractive place to live and work – with future-oriented investments, secure jobs, a high quality of life and international visibility.
As an economic development agency, we are actively shaping economic change: through professional location management, the expansion of technology-oriented networks, the targeted recruitment of skilled labour and strong partnerships. Our focus is not only on the internationally recognised key sectors of optics, photonics, healthcare and the digital economy, but also on the skilled trades, the service sector and SMEs.

Company structure & Supervisory Board
Wirtschaftsförderungsgesellschaft Jena mbH is a municipal company. The shareholders are the City of Jena (95%) and Sparkasse Jena-Saale-Holzland (5%). Our Supervisory Board, which consists of representatives from business, science and local politics, helps to determine the direction and tasks of Wirtschaftsförderungsgesellschaft Jena mbH.
