Skilled labour study Jena 2030
Strategies for sustainably securing skilled labour in a growing scientific and economic region
How can a dynamically growing city like Jena continue to attract and retain sufficiently qualified skilled labour in the future? This is the central question addressed by the Jena 2030 Skilled Labour Study, which was commissioned by JenaWirtschaft and conducted by the Centre for Social Research Halle.
The study offers a well-founded outlook on the demand for skilled labour up to the year 2030 – differentiated according to sectors, qualifications and economic growth scenarios. It clearly shows that the demand for well-trained skilled labour in Jena will increase noticeably in the coming years – not only due to economic growth, but above all due to demographic change.
At the same time, the study highlights various potentials for securing skilled labour – both within the city as well as nationally and internationally. It provides companies, administrations and politicians with a valuable decision-making basis for the strategic orientation of skilled labour recruitment.
The aim is not only to make the challenges transparent, but also to show ways that can be implemented together: for a strong, diverse and sustainable working world in Jena.
