The Jena Alliance for Skilled Workers (JAfF) brings together actors from business, science, municipalities and educational institutions from Jena and the region to master the challenges of skilled worker development in Jena.  As head of the JAfF, JenaWirtschaft assumes responsibility for strengthening the competitiveness of business and science in Jena.

Areas of focus

The following main topics have been defined and their development has been consolidated in corresponding working groups.

 

The working group on the topic of "Career Orientation/Health Economics" identifies needs from business and science in the field of career orientation and develops measures to make it easier for young people to choose a career in Jena. The focus here is on promoting direct contact between training centres, companies and future employees.

 

In the working group for MINT education in Jena, companies can actively participate in the promotion of the demand for skilled workers in the fields of mathematics, computer science, natural sciences and technology.

In order to support companies in the integration of international employees, the working group " International professionals" was created as part of the project  HiTh - Highly qualified. International. Thuringia. It offers space for an exchange of experiences on the subject and provides information on the legal framework, such as immigration and residence law.

 

IT professionals

The aim of the "IT Professionals" working group is to create attractive conditions for skilled workers in Jena's growing IT sector. Strategies range from educational and training opportunities to the promotion of international specialists and student marketing.
