Attractive location and transparent market
Jena is an attractive growth location for regional, national and international investors. Whether municipal, private or investments by the Free State – numerous major projects are currently being prepared, planned and realised. The location offers optimal future opportunities for companies and skilled labour. Together with our municipal partners, the Department of Urban Development & Environment and Kommunale Immobilien Jena, the Economic Development Agency presents Jena as a business and investment location at the following national property fairs:
EXPO REAL
With over 1,200 exhibitors and a diverse conference programme, EXPO REAL is Europe’s most important investment fair. Here we present the potential of Jena as a location, establish contacts and discuss current trends.
Shortly before EXPO Real, we also publish our annual Jena Office Market Report. This provides a comprehensive overview of the commercial office market in our city, including relevant key figures such as space turnover, office market zones, absorption and returns, vacancy rates and rent trends.
Polis Convention
Under the umbrella of the European Metropolitan Region of Central Germany, we are presenting current development projects in Düsseldorf. The trade fair is a central meeting place for around 7,000 experts and offers a forum for discussion on investment, project development and sustainability.
It is accompanied by the polis Award, in which the German Optical Museum in Jena took third place in the “Reactivated Centres” category in 2024.
Real Estate Arena
Jena is participating in the Real Estate Arena for the first time in 2025. This relatively new trade fair focuses on topics such as sustainable urban development, digital transformation and new investment opportunities. It offers us the opportunity to present Jena as a location to a broad specialist audience and attract new investors.
