Accessibility

Legal basis

As the website operator, we would like to design the Jena Business Developments website in accordance with the relevant accessibility regulations. The following legal provisions apply to us: Thuringian law on barrier-free access to the websites and mobile applications of public bodies (ThürBarrWebG).

The accessibility statement applies to the website https://www.jenawirtschaft.de/.

Status of compatibility with the requirements

This website is partially compliant with the accessibility regulations that apply to us. The basis for the creation of this accessibility statement is the self-assessment in the form of the WCAG test and an editorial review of the content.

The compliance review was carried out on 4 September 2025.

Tested accessibility

The website has been checked for accessibility and largely complies with the following standards:

  • Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1 (WCAG)
  • BITV 2.0

Any deviations are listed under the following points “incomplete barrier-free design” and “existing deficiencies and optimisations”.

Incomplete barrier-free design

The content listed below is not or not fully compliant with the relevant legal regulations on accessibility:

  • Video recordings are currently still published without subtitles. They are available without audio description and full text alternative.
  • Brochures and forms in PDF format are currently not accessible. They will be created in a low-barrier or barrier-free version or replaced by a barrier-free version as soon as this is available.
  • The website does not yet contain any information in plain language.

Still existing deficiencies and optimisations

There are still isolated deficiencies in the following content and technical aspects. Various editorial adjustments are already planned to improve accessibility. The following measures will be taken to fully meet the accessibility requirements:

  • Foreign words and abbreviations are changed as far as possible
  • older PDF and MS Office documents are improved
  • Title and alt tags do not always meet the desired requirements (text length, missing or duplicate tags)
  • Images are provided with alternative texts

We intend to implement the above measures in the foreseeable future. New page content will be checked for accessibility by the editorial team before publication.
