Further Education

Life-long learning

Learning doesn’t stop after graduation. Many high-tech companies emphasize that their employees are up-to-date education-wise. Therefore, there are many first-class further education and qualification courses in Jena.

Skilled personnel can for example educate themselves further at the Friedrich Schiller University and at the University of Applied Sciences Jena – also online via the “Education Portal Thuringia”. A joint project of both universities is the Academy for life-long learning JenALL.

An important role in entrepreneurial further education plays the SCHOTT Zeiss Education centre. Additionally, the municipal adult education centre offers many classes for economic demands, such as foreign languages and IT. Companies may also “design” qualification courses for their employees as well.

The „ZIFW Jena”, the Günter Köhler Institute as well as the ÜAG Jena (association for external education) provide further education courses. Additionally, many private providers offer a range of diverse further education programmes, such as QualiService Thuringia.
